台北市北投國中老師林柏嘉指出，今年國中會考數學科考27題選擇題，及兩題非選題，光幾何題就考了15題，難度比去年試辦會考略高，其中不少取材自生活經驗，包括農產品販賣、手機通訊軟體、ＫＴＶ歡唱計費、紙片拼圖、網路搜尋資訊並解讀等都入題。

林柏嘉說，幾何是國中生學數學時，比較頭痛的單元，這次會考過半題目、共15題和幾何有關，且都使用較複雜的程序或概念，每一題都要想一下，答題關鍵取決於是否關照到整體圖形結構，能否明白作圖與其對應的性質意義。

數學也出現了一些生活題，例如有一題引用兩名學生手機通訊軟體上的對話，考從郵局走到學生家裡的走法，相當令人驚艷。
